PEARL DAZZLE SEMI-CUSTOM COSTUME POLICY
Semi-Custom is Pearl Dazzle's recap service for eligible previous-season Pearl Dazzle designs.
This service allows customers to reproduce an existing Pearl Dazzle costume in a new color and, when approved, remove existing design elements.
Semi-Custom is not a Full Custom design service and does not include new design development.
By booking Semi-Custom, the customer agrees to the following policies.
1. ELIGIBLE DESIGNS
Semi-Custom costumes must be based on an existing Pearl Dazzle design from a previous season.
Eligible designs may include previous:
• Pearl Dazzle Full Custom costumes
• Pearl Dazzle collection designs
• Pure Charm Collection designs
• Pearl Dazzle recap designs
• Pearl Dazzle costumes shown in previous-season Instagram or website content
Pearl Dazzle reserves the right to determine whether a particular design is eligible for recap based on construction, material availability, production feasibility, and other relevant factors.
2. CURRENT-SEASON ONE-OF-A-KIND PROTECTION
Current-season Pearl Dazzle Full Custom designs are not available for Semi-Custom reproduction during the same season in which they were created.
These designs remain one-of-a-kind for that season.
After the season has ended, eligible designs may become available for Semi-Custom recap in future seasons.
This policy helps protect the originality and exclusivity of Full Custom costumes during the dancer's current competition season.
3. SEMI-CUSTOM DESIGN RULE
Semi-Custom must remain substantially faithful to the original Pearl Dazzle costume.
Allowed customization is limited primarily to:
• Color changes
• Custom sizing
• Removal of approved existing elements
Semi-Custom does not include redesigning the original costume.
4. ALLOWED CHANGES
Customers may request approved:
COLOR CHANGES
The original costume may be recreated in another available color.
REMOVAL OF EXISTING ELEMENTS
When construction allows, customers may request removal of existing details such as:
• Skirt
• Fringe
• Feathers
• Appliqués
• Rhinestones
• Accessories
• Other decorative details
Pearl Dazzle determines whether an element can be removed without negatively affecting the garment's fit, construction, or integrity.
5. NEW ELEMENTS CANNOT BE ADDED
Semi-Custom does not include adding new design elements.
Customers may not request:
• A new skirt
• New fringe
• New feathers
• New appliqués
• New sleeves
• New straps
• New cut-outs
• A new back
• A new neckline
• New structural details
• New rhinestone designs
• New motifs
• New construction features
If an element does not already exist in the original Pearl Dazzle design, it cannot be added under Semi-Custom.
6. NO MIX & MATCH OR REDESIGN
Semi-Custom does not include combining elements from multiple costumes to create a different design.
We do not:
• Combine one costume's top with another costume's bottom
• Replace the original skirt with another design's skirt
• Exchange backs, sleeves, straps, or necklines
• Move major design elements
• Rework the original silhouette
• Rearrange motifs or appliqués into a new layout
Requests requiring this level of design work belong under Pearl Dazzle Full Custom service.
7. NO NEW SKETCH
Semi-Custom does not include a new design sketch.
Because the costume is based on an existing Pearl Dazzle design, the original photo or previous design reference serves as the design reference.
Pearl Dazzle may provide written confirmation of:
• Color
• Fabric
• Removed details
• Final price
but does not create a new sketch for Semi-Custom orders.
8. WHY SEMI-CUSTOM IS LIMITED
Adding, moving, or redesigning elements frequently requires:
• New sketch work
• New pattern development
• New design confirmation
• New construction planning
This creates the same design process required for a Full Custom costume.
Semi-Custom pricing and timelines are possible because Pearl Dazzle is reproducing an existing design rather than developing a new one.
9. STANDARD FABRIC & COLOR POLICY
Standard Semi-Custom color changes use available regular Pearl Dazzle fabrics.
Standard fabrics generally include:
• Spandex
• Mesh
Fabric availability varies.
10. SPECIALTY FABRICS
Specialty fabrics may require additional charges.
These include, but are not limited to:
• Metallic
• Foiled fabrics
• Specialty mesh
• Lace
• Printed fabrics
• Specialty stretch materials
• Limited or premium fabrics
A specialty fabric request is considered a fabric upgrade.
Any applicable additional cost will be confirmed before production.
11. COLOR VARIATION
Different fabric types may display the same color differently.
Customers acknowledge that:
• Mesh and spandex may not match exactly
• Specialty fabrics may reflect stage lighting differently
• Physical fabric colors may differ from photos or screen displays
Exact screen-to-fabric color matching is not guaranteed.
12. PRICING
Semi-Custom pricing is based on the original Pearl Dazzle design.
Typical starting ranges include:
Lyrical / Contemporary: $375–$475
Simple Jazz: $375–$475
Fringe: $475–$575
Feather: $575–$675
Fringe + Feather: Starting at $675
Final pricing may vary based on:
• Construction
• Fabric
• Rhinestones
• Fringe
• Feathers
• Appliqués
• Dancer sizing
• Specialty materials
• Rush requirements
Final price is confirmed before production.
13. ADULT SIZE FEES
Child: No additional fee
Adult XS / S: +$25
Adult M: +$50
Adult L: +$75
Additional charges may apply for measurements outside Pearl Dazzle's standard sizing range.
14. $200 BOOKING PAYMENT
A $200 non-refundable booking payment is required to reserve a Semi-Custom production window.
One booking payment = one costume.
The payment is credited toward the final costume total.
The booking payment does not mean the costume has entered production.
15. DESIGN CONFIRMATION
Before production, Pearl Dazzle will confirm the Semi-Custom order direction, including:
• Original Pearl Dazzle design
• Color
• Fabric
• Approved removals
• Measurements
• Final pricing
Customers are responsible for carefully reviewing this information before approval.
16. PRODUCTION PAYMENT
Once the Semi-Custom direction and final price are confirmed, Pearl Dazzle will issue the required Design Confirmation / Production Invoice.
For final totals of $500 or more, Pearl Dazzle generally requires a 50% production deposit, with previously paid booking amounts credited toward the required amount.
For totals below $500, the required payment will be shown on the invoice.
Production does not begin until the required payment is received.
17. DESIGN CONFIRMATION = PRODUCTION COMMITMENT
Once the customer approves the confirmed design direction and Pearl Dazzle receives the required payment, the costume is added to the production queue.
Once production is scheduled:
Design changes are not included.
If Pearl Dazzle is able to accommodate a later request, additional fees may apply and the production timeline may be affected.
18. MEASUREMENT RESPONSIBILITY
Customers are responsible for providing accurate and current measurements.
If measurements appear incorrect or inconsistent, Pearl Dazzle may request a remeasurement.
Production may be delayed until measurement questions are resolved.
Pearl Dazzle is not responsible for fit issues caused by inaccurate customer-submitted measurements.
19. PRODUCTION TIMELINE
Semi-Custom orders should generally be booked at least 6–8 weeks before the required delivery date.
Production timing depends on:
• Current capacity
• Fabric availability
• Original design complexity
• Measurements
• Customer response time
• Payment completion
Rush availability is limited and must be approved before booking.
20. “NOT SURE YET” BOOKINGS
Customers may reserve a production window before choosing their exact previous-season Pearl Dazzle design.
However, a Not Sure Yet booking does not include:
• New concept development
• New sketching
• Full Custom design consultation
The final costume must still be selected from an eligible previous-season Pearl Dazzle design.
21. TELEGRAM COMMUNICATION
Semi-Custom communication is handled through Telegram.
Customers should begin their first message with:
Name — Order Number — Due Date
Telegram communication may include:
• Design reference
• Color selection
• Removals
• Measurements
• Pricing
• Approval
• Production questions
22. CUSTOMER-CAUSED DELAYS
Customer-caused delays include:
• Late design selection
• Late color confirmation
• Late measurements
• Incorrect measurements requiring correction
• Late approval
• Late payment
• Delayed responses
Customer-caused delays may affect the reserved production and delivery timeline.
23. SEMI-CUSTOM CANNOT BECOME FULL CUSTOM
A Semi-Custom booking may not gradually become a new design project while remaining under Semi-Custom pricing.
If the customer requests:
• Added design elements
• Structural redesign
• New sketch work
• New patterns
• Major repositioning of design details
• Combination of multiple designs
• Continued redesign of the original costume
Pearl Dazzle may stop the Semi-Custom process and require the customer to either return to the original recap direction or separately book Full Custom, subject to availability.
24. ALL SALES FINAL
Semi-Custom costumes are made according to customer measurements and confirmed selections.
Therefore, Semi-Custom costume sales are final.
Booking payments, design-confirmation payments, and production deposits are non-refundable unless Pearl Dazzle specifically agrees otherwise in writing.
25. RIGHT TO REFUSE OR TERMINATE SERVICE
Pearl Dazzle reserves the right to decline, cancel, or discontinue an order or working relationship when we reasonably determine that the collaboration is no longer appropriate.
Pearl Dazzle may decline or discontinue service when:
• Requested work does not qualify as Semi-Custom
• A customer repeatedly requests Full Custom work under Semi-Custom pricing
• Required procedures are repeatedly ignored
• Required information remains incomplete
• Communication prevents the order from moving forward
• Requested work conflicts with Pearl Dazzle policies
We expect respectful and professional communication from all customers.
Any applicable refund or credit will be handled according to the terms applying to the specific order.
26. BOOKING ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
By completing a Pearl Dazzle Semi-Custom Costume booking, the customer confirms that they understand:
• Semi-Custom is based on previous-season Pearl Dazzle designs only
• Current-season Full Custom designs remain one-of-a-kind for that season
• Colors may be changed
• Existing elements may be removed
• New elements cannot be added
• Mix & match is not included
• Structural redesign is not included
• New sketches are not included
• Specialty fabrics may cost extra
• The $200 booking payment is non-refundable
• Accurate measurements are the customer's responsibility
• Production begins only after confirmation and required payment
• Changes are not included once production is scheduled
SEMI-CUSTOM = PREVIOUS-SEASON PEARL DAZZLE RECAP
